Swan River Print Studio is a dedicated printmaking space, where individual member artists are able to work in a clean and professional environment, to develop their printmaking processes and art practices. SRPS also provides an opportunity to share skills, support and encourage printmaking peers.

Typically our collective is comprised of twelve or so core members - known as Full Members, who incur monthly fees plus some organisational commitment in exchange for regular studio use and exclusive exhibition / workshop opportunities. Alongside this core membership exists a limited number of rotating sessional membership positions.

Sessional Members must prove themselves to be proficient printmakers - comfortable working alone in the studio and able to operate the presses, after an induction, and demonstrate safe working practices. Sessional Members will be asked to sign membership agreement and pay a $100 commitment fee. They are able to hire the studio / facilities between 6am -midnight ; Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday at a daily rate of $50 per session [once they have paid their fee and completed an induction].

Sessional memberships last for six months, therefore call outs for new sessional members usually occur every six months - depending on fluctuating availability and administrative capacity. Sessional members may be able to renew their membership at the end of a six month period - depending on availability.

Current and past sessional members will be contacted if a full membership position becomes available.

If you are interested in becoming a sessional member please contact Dom our membership administrator domcoiffaitau@yahoo.com

Full Members can book studio sessions via an app- they can access Swan River Print Studio daily 6am - midnight. Bookings can be made up to two weeks in advance.
As a full member you will be expected to take part in the day to day upkeep and management of the studio, studio administration and open day facilitation.

Full members are also invited to participate in all SRPS group exhibitions.
Full members are elected by the executive committee via a competitive EOI process.

Hire of Swan River Print Studios

Professional Printmakers [who are not members] may seek to hire Swan River Print Studios for a specific printmaking project, but this can only be granted at the discretion of the executive committee and depending on availability of the studio. Additional induction and technician fees may be incurred. The hirer will maintain the studios standards of function, safety and cleanliness expected by SRPS.

A daily fee of $70 will be charged, and a contract is required to ensure the artist agrees to acknowledge the studio, should the work be exhibited, sold or entered into a competition.

Hire of Swan River Print Studio for workshops

Professional Printmakers [who are not members] may seek to hire Swan River Print Studios to run their workshops, but this will only be granted at the discretion of the executive committee and under negotiation of appropriate fees. Additional induction and technician fees may be incurred. The hirer will still be responsible for all administration, promotion facilitation and supply of the workshop. It is expected that they will ensure all participants maintain the studios standards of function, safety and cleanliness expected by SRPS.

Printmaking services to artists

Artists who are interested in producing prints for specific project but are not interested in becoming printmakers may contract a SRPS Member to provide print services. The print making service is subject to negotiated fee with the member and any arrangement of this kind made between the artist and the printer’s [member’s] discretion.
A daily $50 fee will be incurred, and a contract is required to ensure the artist agrees to acknowledge both the printer and the studio - should the work be exhibited, sold or entered into a competition.

Swan River Print Studio is a non-profit incorporated association, therefore all members / printmakers pay fees which contribute towards the rent and other core expenses, directly supporting the studios operation and continuity.
